Magnificent, Victorian gasolier, electrified, from an 1898 San Francisco home. Four arms, each branching into three separate arms, create a ring of twelve lights surrounding a large, ornate, pierced filigree body. This body is surmounted by an urn which is suspended by articulated risers that connect, above, to another, smaller body, topped by a cast brass crown, rising finally to the canopy at the ceiling. 61″ long. The rope tubing arms have ornamental leaf husks where they attach to the grouping of three armbacks. The gascocks are also ornate, of course. New, cast brass shade holders hold new, double etched, French hurricane shades by Vianne, with a lovely, amber tint. A weighty, impressive centerpiece for a large, important room with a high ceiling!
