Here is one of several lovely, Victorian chandeliers we recently obtained from a northern California estate — all well preserved and in excellent condition, the polished brass now acquiring a beautiful, mellow, golden patina. This electrified, gas/electric combination, eight light chandelier, circa 1890, features graceful, floral armbacks with matching gascock handles, an ornate, filigreed brass casting covering the lower half of the body, matching, ribbed, ornamental balls below and above the body and part way up the stem, and wonderful, graceful risers joining the gas arms to the break above — complete with three breaks each near the top, and topped with more armbacks. That’s a lot going on without giving the sense of excess! The period shades are double etched with deeply etched columns of intricate designs. 34″ wide with shades, 54″ long (can be shortened).
